For a different class, I interviewed Samantha Martinson and took photos for a slideshow for the project. I had such a good time with Martinson and the cast I wanted to share my experience. Also, I think these photos turned out great and really wanted to share them.
My partner, Sara, and I went to a dress rehearsal of The Comedy of Errors and talked with Martinson before her call. She shared with us her experiences with acting and her favorite pieces of the show. The natural sound in the theater with the other actors and crew preparing for the show was awesome. There were some moments where the natural sound overpowered Martinson in the audio, but it added to the element of chaos.
After finishing the interview, we were allowed to stay to watch the practice. I do not know much about Shakespearian plays, but I caught on to the humor and even chuckled at a few jokes. After leaving, Sara and I decided we needed some more photos to make our story complete. I went backstage with the actresses getting ready for a show and got some great shots for our slideshow. It was a new challenge for me to take photos with so many mirrors, as the photographer should never be in the shot. Interacting with the actress was actually really fun. I think it was because we are all students first and we were all wanting to help each other out. I was grateful for their willingness to let me be a fly on their wall as they had to physically and mentally prepare for the show.
Below is our final slideshow.
